This blog is a journal of the simple living on a small 2 and a half acre farm. The ups and downs. The good and the not so good. Adventures of Hidden Haven animals and some of my own. The sharing of our frugal, hardworking, attempt to be as self sufficient as possible. Please stop by often as we love company!

A Busy Weekend
Friday the 2 boys that have been helping us around the farm came to spend the weekend with us. They moved away and we hadn't seen them in a few weeks. Saturday morning I got up early and fed the chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits. William and the boys did the other feeding, milking and chores. They dropped me off at the craft fair at 7am. The fair was a little slower than last fall but I think its because more people shopped the yardsale outside. A couple of my friends said they came by and only saw the yardsale and didn't know I was inside. William came for me early as we had a couple of goats that were sick and he wasn't sure what to do. Came home and gave them some medication and did the evening chores. We built a fire and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Ended up with several kids from the neighborhood showing up for supper. Sunday morning I started early getting ready for my friends Gerda and Christine. They were coming for lunch. Gerda is the lady we tilled and planted the garden for and became fast friends. While getting lunch ready for her visit Brent and Erin dropped by with Erin's mom and aunt. Had a lovely visit with them and then had a nice lady with her son and daughter stop by to meet Diva and the other critters. After showing them around and introducing them to everyone at Hidden Haven I went back to finish lunch. Gerda and Christine showed up before I finished. William was in the shower so I showed them around until a customer came. Thank goodness William was able to finish the tour with them while I sold some soaps and other things. Finally got lunch finished and sat down (without my shower) to visit with Gerda. I just love this lady. She reminds me so much of Ms. Fran. After seeing them off we had the family that found Wild Thing come to visit and see how he was doing. They will be coming back in a month to take Wild Thing and release him near their home in the woods. Did evening chores, took the boys home, came home and ate leftovers, had a shower and got a surprise visit from Brent and Erin. They brought two cute little piglets. We are going to raise the pigs for them. After getting them settled in and making plans to see Brent and Erin in a couple of days I came in and crashed. The weekend wiped me out. Today I felt drained but am heading for bed and looking forward to a new day tomorrow. Things are still rough for us but each day is a blessing. Just got to accept God's timing and not be so impatient or untrusting.

Peggy, I am sorry times are hard right now. I wish William could get back on the road but I bet he really loves being home and helping out. How cool that the kids all came to visit. I can't believe how much company you have. I hardly ever have any!
Peggy, I know you are doing what you want to do---but I just hope that your health will hold up with your horribly busy schedule. Will there ever come a time when you have to say that you need to give up SOMETHING?????
I've got a good friend who schedules every minute in her life. I worry about her---but her life is not one half as busy as yours. SO---with love, I will say that I worry about you... Please slow down JUST a little.
Hugs,
Betsy
You are so kind and giving.
Hello Peggy I just adore the way every moment "on the farm"is filled with adventure for you and ll those who come to capture a bit of that treasure as well.
I visited you the other day but was so busy myself I forgot to leave a hello!! for you.

**HUGS** Things are always the best when they are hard right? Time with William is a blessing isnt it? Just the way its been happening seems to not be I am sure. Praying for you my dear friend and hopeing that God reveals His plan to you and that you feel comort from Him... Luv ya!
Hiya sis:-) I'm finally staying inside the house and the computer is actually turned on so I'm making some long overdue visits!! I just can't get over how busy your days are, I know you love it all but it's no doubt that you go to bed completely exhausted every night! It's your fault for being so nice that you get so many visitors! hehe One of these days I'll make it there tooooooooo. Love ya sis. xoxox
I wish I could help, you have helped us with the new goats to our daughter's little herd of animals.
My prayers for you and your husband are being said daily.

I hope things start to look up for you soon. You certainly are managing to stay busy, though, aren't you? :)
Hello Peggy, Just wanted to say that you and William are in our thoughts and prayers. Looks like those kids really enjoyed the hot dogs! So sweet!
With so many comings and going of people you may need to put in a turnstile.
You are lucky to have young people come by. I am envious.
Good luck with the pigs. My Duroc sow, Ruby, took off again on an walkabout and has been gone since Saturday. I just got a call she was seen near the village about 1 1/2 miles from here. I went and looked and couldn't see her so tomorrow, I will keep looking.
You are one busy lady, but you seem to love what you are doing (o: Blessings to you (o:
Hi Peggy:) I just played catch up on your site. Im mailing my daughter to you and I will take one of each on your canning:)
What a treat to roast food over a fire! It makes special memories for many years to come. It's a simple thing, but too few kids have the opportunity to do it these days.
You really have to slow down a bit. You will collapse one of these days and then who would take care of all your babies?
Hi Peggy, After being raised as a domestic bunny I'm not sure Wild Thing would survive out in the wild...Your in my prayers too :D
Peggy,
I bet you were exhausted. The craft fair sounds like fun. It's hard work being a vendor. Hope the goats are on the mend.
One of these days, we will have our passports and head to the States. I would love to visit Hidden Haven and meet you, William and all the adorable animals. Besides, I need soap. lol
Take care, my friend. Try to get rested up for the week. Yes, it's all in God's timing.
Blessings,
Mary
Dear Peggy! When do you take time to breathe? You do so much for all you take care of and you are such a wonderful woman....I couldnt keep up if I tried...I'm praying for you guys! I bet you have no idea how much you have helped to inform people on your animals/husbandry and homesteading.....You are an inspiration, AND you make it look effortless...though we know its far from that! You are blessed!
I'm tried just reading how busy you have been!! I hope you have been able to get some breathers in the meantime!!
I'm sure it's a real treat for folks to visit you there on the homestead!
So funny that this far north, we're just planting, and you have a bounty already! Things are on the upswing for us all - I can just feel it! Hang in there, country sister!
I had a few moments and just stopped in to say Hi. I am very busy trying to get our TO DO list done. I hope to get back to my bloggy friend really soon.
Have a wonderful week.
The Raggedy Girl
