Good Night Moon
The day is coming to a close. The sun has gone to bed and the moon is making a appearance. There is a owl close by hooting and a whippoorwill is calling. I just love the sounds of night. Its so peaceful. Supper of cheeseburger pie, green beans from the garden, creamed corn made from corn from the garden, toss salad from garden veggies, rolls, and a tall glass of ice tea is finished. Dishes are washed and put away. Rusty and Kuma had their night time walk. I had my shower and am just relaxing to the sounds of the night. Today was 97F but the humidity was down which made it easier to handle. The animals did well today and didn't mind the heat. The rabbits even ran around their cages instead of cuddling their frozen bottles. I made curtains for the diningroom this afternoon. Cleaned out my closet, cleaned out my dresser drawers and have a bag of items to take to the thriftstore. All in all it was another simple but blessed day at the homestead. Going to turn in early to read and wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Glad you had a good day, Peggy, and glad that it wasn't as hot... Today may have been our hottest day yet... BUT--they say that it's going to cool off and we may get some rain this weekend. I HOPE!!!!!!
Glad your animals did okay today... Your dinner with all of those fresh things from your garden sounded wonderful... I'm jealous!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Ah, life sounds very busy but sweet around your parts. Hope tomorrow is wonderful for you, and maybe the cooler temps. (the high eighties) that'll be here tomorrow, will get to you next. :)
Hugs to you!
I love the night time sounds too Peggy. It was over 100 degrees here by 11 a.m. today. Needless to say, we limited our time outdoors. I hope you and all the animals sleep tight tonight. Enjoy your Friday.
Eating from the garden in one of my most favorite things to do. I have random stuff coming along, but our gardens don't get to going strong until August. A ways yet to go.

Sounds like the perfect end to a simple day. We have owls , but I've never heard a whip-poor-wil around here , when I'm over at my Mom's I get to hear their wonderful call. We do have a bob white that sings all day and late into the afternoon , I enjoy listening to their call. Hope you have a great weekend.

Peggy, So happy you are back on your homestead and sounding happy and contented. I worried about you for a long while when you were in your teeny cabin but now you are back in your home, tending your animals and garden and it just feels right.
Enjoy!!
What Nancy said too...
I'm so glad for the animals that it's cooled off slightly. Same here a little but we keep being promised rain that doesn't appear.
It's still in the thirties with the humidex but the last few days have been in the forties with the humidex.
