Dotty's Five Babies

Finally figured out how to get the milk out!

Waiting to go back to mommy
Falling asleep with a full tummy
Putting them with Dotty to nurse for the first time
Runt Rudy being born
Dotty had a very easy labor and delivery of 5 beautiful black babies. She let me sit and rub her back during contractions and then let me take each piglet, clean it up and place it in a blanket till she was finished having babies. Dotty is a wonderful mom even though its her first time. After all the piglets were born she was so good about being still so I could place them on her teats to nurse. Congratulations Dotty and Pork Chop!
Let it be know I hate the new way blogger does photos! I cannot get them to stay where I put them in the post so they are all out of order! Sorry

Enjoy the little piglets while you can. They grow very fast. Interesting that they are all black.
Was she bred with the rare English black boar pig.

To place a picture in a specific place try copying and pasting the photo in the text.

I have not noticed that blogger changed it's way of uploading pictures. I probably was doing it wrong all along.

Hi Peggy - thought I'd stop by and say Hey and thank you for stopping by my place and saying Hey! LOL So glad the farrowing went well with Dotty and the babies. Is she Duroc? I notice some red coloring. I worked for 9 yrs at the Univ of KY swine research unit, but could no longer abide by the confinement system and nutrition studies that they did, so I moved on. It may take me a while to get my feet under me at the cabin, but I hope to have some animals in the future, and would really like some hogs since I am most familiar with them. But would also like sheep and goats, just for myself to use the goat milk, and the wool from the sheep. I'll keep my blog updated as time allows once I move, but will only be able to do so at the public library in town or maybe at my friend's home when I am working with her. Thanks again for the encouraging comments. I am now following you to see what all goes on with you, and to learn whatever you can teach me! ha LOL - I love farm blogs, and the women who write them. Take care, from KY.

Oh Peggy, How special... I've never seen a baby piggy before... They are so precious... Glad things went so well for Dotty... And congrats to you for being another new Grammy.... You surely do have alot of grand-critters, don't you???

I think our weather is going to 'break'--and we are going to get some cooler weather finally --at least for awhile.... Yeah!!!!!

Congrats again.
Hugs,
Betsy

Congratulations! We want to get pigs but I'm afraid I would make them all pets. I found with blogger that if you put the curser where you want the pic it will go there. I put my first picture in then hit enter a few times and then put the next pic in. After I'm done I go back and do the writing. I hope this works. Sometimes updates aren't the best thing. Plus I don't like changes so much. LOL

Congratulations to proud parents, Dotty & Pork Chop. Aren't baby piglets just the sweetest little things? Was there a baby shower? LOL:-)

Seriously tho, I'm throughly enjoying your blog.

These are just the sweetest things!! I would love to have a pig but I would want it to live indoors and that probably wouldn't work!!

Your problem with blogger is one of the reasons I don't blog much. I can never get anything where I want it!!
