My Play House

A week ago a nice lady was giving away a play house on Craigs list. I emailed her and ask her if no one with children wanted it I would love to have it. My first intention was to make a goat house out of it. She emailed a few days later to say the people that wanted it never showed up to get it and it was mine! Once we got it home I knew it would not be a goat house. It is going to be a part of my flower garden in front of the house. We tilled up the ground where I wanted the house to sit. We put down a old torn up tarp so it would kill the grass and weeds. The tarp should rot and go back into the soil in a year or so. We put the house where I wanted it and tomorrow will start putting down  soil and mulch to make a wild flower garden on each side and in back of the play house. My wonderful blog friend Melissa has the most beautiful flowers growing in her front yard that I love and she has offered me some seeds from her flower garden! Melissa has been a friend for several years and such a inspiration.  By next spring I hope to have the flower garden of my dreams. I am making a wooden fence to put along the front and have stepping stones for a walking path to the front door. The play house has windows that open, a little porch on the side with built in benches, a cute little door, a mailbox that we have to put back up by the door, and the cute little wooden outdoor chair set. I didn't have a real play house growing up. I always made mine under the trees or under the porch but now I have my very own! I might even let the neighborhood kids play in it sometime.LOL

Will post pictures of this project as I go along. The best part is it was free!

Cute Peggy.... I cannot believe that lady just 'gave' that little playhouse away. Did she not have any little girls in her family which would have wanted it??? That is unbelievable...

I'm glad you got it because I know you will take good care of it... I can't wait to see what all you do with it. SO--keep us posted!!!

Sounds like you had a GREAT day...
Hugs,
Betsy

Good things come to good people. You will appreciate having the house and take care of it. It's going to look so cute when you get it fixed up. It will be nice to decorate around it for the holidays.

It's certainly found the best home it could have!!! I'd kill for one like that for my little granddaughters but I've never seen anything like it!
I'm going to show my hubby the picture and see if he will build one!!
