Child Labor

I stayed up to watch the ball drop before calling it a night. William and H were asleep long before then. We got up bright and early to make the most of this wonderful warm spring like day. I got chicken pens raked, rabbit cages cleaned, feeding table washed and straightened. Raked the area between feed room, hay barn, and rabbit cages. Got all the outside Christmas decorations down except the lights across the roof of the house. That will be William's job. While I was doing all these things William and H were busy splitting wood. H ran the splitter all by himself. Pop Pop just had to keep the wood going to and from the splitter.

After chores and supper we went to take eggs to my friend Gerda. Always enjoy visiting with her. Then it was home where 2 guys were very tired and asleep before their head hit the pillow. H told me he had to get some sleep as he had work to do tomorrow. I wonder how old he will be before that changes.  Have a very blessed weekend and may your 2011 be filled with love, laughter, and overflowing with blessings.

Oh what a cutie... I'm sure that Pop Pop loved having all of that big help!!!!!!

Sounds like you did what I did --and that is to get all of the outside Christmas decorations IN before the heavy rains came. I did --and was so glad that I did it... I will begin putting away all of our Christmas this coming week... I hate to see it go--but life goes on.

We watched the ball fall on New Year's Eve also.

Hugs,
Betsy

Happy New Year!
Are your chickens laying well? All of a sudden I have a non stop egg factory in my henhouse and I can't figure out why...

Since Riley was a little tiny thing he has been such an enthusiastic worker. He will be 8yo this year and so far nothing has changed. Keeping my fingers crossed that it never does. Happy New Year to you and yours Peggy.

Such a cute little helper William has there:-) It's a shame that as they get older they don't want to help anymore. lol

I spent most of the day with mom today to take down her tree and decorations. Also started on mine but will have to finish tomorrow as I ran out of steam! lol

Love ya sis. xoxo
