Happy Easter From Hidden Haven

The dogs got cookies and cream dog treats. The chickens, geese, and ducks got a salad. The rabbits and goats got carrots. The sheep got molasses cookies and I got phone calls from the kids and grands wishing us a Happy Easter. So I think its safe to say all of us here at Hidden Haven are having a blessed Easter. May your Easter be very blessed. May you find all your hidden eggs today and not later this summer. May your table be full and surrounded by loved ones. Happy Easter from Ms. Diva and all of us at Hidden Haven.

Easter Photo Shoot

Yesterday since I didn't already have enough to do I decided to take Easter pictures of the animals. DiDi wasted no time in letting me know what she thought of the idea.

Happy St Patty's Day

We will be celebrating with cookies around here. The goats refuse to leave their hats on but I am wondering if the dogs are up to wearing hats in exchange for dogie treats. Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny after 4 days for rain so that's another reason to celebrate. All the critters are tired of being couped up in their stalls and houses. So if you wanna celebrate St. Patty's Day with a goat or dogie treat come on over we have plenty of hats!

I can't ever forget my Irish angels. Last year William and I celebrated with Ms. Fran and even got a few smiles from her. But looking like a leprechaun William could get a smile out of everyone. This year I am sure she is watching and smiling down on Hidden Haven and maybe even wearing a shamrock hat cause she was all about fun and laughs.
And Nitro always let me dress him up. He didn't like the hats but he would always stand still for me because he knew I really wanted him to dress up. He didn't care if he got a cookie afterwards or not. He just let me dress him up because he loved me.

To all our friends and blog neighbors... Have a Awesome St. Paddy Day from all of us here at Hidden Haven.

Favorite Christmas Carols of Hidden Haven

Being that its Christmas Eve I decided while doing chores to ask what everyones favorite Christmas carol is. I was kinda surprised at some of the answers but they all shared their favorite.
Diva of course is the first I asked. I know how she acts if she isn't first!
I was a little surprised because she usually enjoys listening to Celtic music. I then ask Sammi and if you look really close you can see her singing her favorite.
Princess Diva wanted to get up close to make sure I heard what her favorite Christmas carol is.DiDi after making sure Santa was really coming tonight decided this would be her favorite song.

I think Mandy picked her favorite because she just had her own baby.

And sweet little CC decided her favorite Christmas carol is:

When I ask Charlie, Missy and Molly they just look at me and said duh like how could I ask. You can even see Missy smiling at my question. I guess I should have know they would pick this Christmas carol.

Bonnie and Clyde knew right a way what their favorite is.

I should have known Molene, Larry, Curly and the kids would pick a loud upbeat carol.

I couldn't get all the chickens to stop eating long enough to tell their favorite but the few that did agreed on this one.

The baby bunnies had no doubt what their favorite is.

Bud wasn't in a good mood when I woke him up to ask.And Whiskers was so high on catnip I couldn't get a reasonable answer outta himAlthough Kuma is excited about opening her rawhide toy and bone she wanted her family in Germany to know what her favorite Christmas carol is this year. What all of us at Hidden Haven agreed on was our favorite carol for you is:

We Wish You A Merry Christmas !

The Month Before Christmas

Twas a month before Christmas, when all round the homestead

Not a creature was stirring, cause they'd all gone to bed!

There were stockings to hang by each stall with care.

Cause Diva was sure Santa would be stopping by there!

The chickens were gathered all around on their roost.

Where a Christmas wish list was being produced.

Frosty Dan and the boys were trying to sleep,

But couldn't get over mom bringing home sheep!

When out in the yard there arose such a clatter!

They all jumped up to see what was the matter!

Away to the fence they ran in a flash,

Then stopping so sudden they all almost crashed!

The glow from the big moon up in the sky,

Was so bright it almost blinded their eye.

When what with their wandering eyes did they see?

Rounding the corner was the little goat Louie!

Visiting to wish them Merry Christmas he said.

He loved his new home though he looked overfed.

Now Diva, now Sammi, now Sonya and DiDi

Now Bossy, now Blanche, now Princess and ViVi

Go back to bed, go back to sleep

Louie came to see mommy and won't make a peep.

As dry leaves under their hoof did crunch,

They walked back to bed in one great big bunch.

While up near the house the geese were askew.

The babies, the teens, Mo, Larry and Curly too!

They were anxious for Christmas Eve to arrive.

So they could see the big sled Santa would drive.

Donald and Daffy were all settled in bed

With visions of a new pool swimming in their head.

But not Sally! She was quacking out loud.

To stay awake to see Santa she vowed.

The bunnies eyes twinkled. They all were so merry

Wishing Santa would bring them a apple, a carrot or maybe a berry!

Nickel's little mouth was drawn in a frown.

He was afraid Santa knew he had knocked Huey down!

With a bit of hay held tight in his teeth

He wondered if it would help if maybe he hung up a wreath?

Fred the turkey looking down from the roof,

Was laughing at Nickel who he thought was a goof.

Yes, Christmas Spirit came to the homestead that night.

It surrounded them all and it all felt so right.

To feel love and peace for each one and another,

Cause Christmas at Hidden Haven was blessed and like no other!

Sneak Preview

I have a awesome talented daughter who designs and makes my business cards, soap labels and any other projects I come up with. William and I took some Christmas pictures of the goats for Christmas cards. Maggie took those photos and believe me not all the goats are okay with wearing hats or antlers like Diva is. It took us a lot of time just to get halfway decent shots. Anyway Maggie took those photos and designed our Christmas cards and sent me a proof to check out. I love it! Now this sample isn't the best as I printed it out on cheap paper just to check it out. I scanned the print so you could have a sneak preview of Hidden Haven's Christmas card. Isn't it just awesome! The outside says: From Our Herd To Yours and the inside: Have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year Maggie has a lot of talent that she didn't get from her mom. I know she laughed when she saw our photos as she takes professional photos. She is also is a very very talented artist. One day my dream is for her and her hubby Brannon (who is also a talented artist) to do the illustrations for my Stories of Hidden Haven children's book. She is also going to check on making a Hidden Haven calendar for me. If that works out you guys will be the first to know!
