My heart goes out to the families of the students and staff killed yesterday at Virginia Tech. I wonder what things and thoughts the shooter was dealing with that made him feel this was the only solution. My prayers are with his family as well.

My question is why do these people who have problems, have to kill innocent people along with themselves. Senseless!

These are dreadfully sad events: attacks on the innocent within the open and vulnerable community of a center of learning.

I am reminded of the 1969 massacre of 14 female engineering students at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal by Marc Lapin. He hated women. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89cole_Polytechnique_Massacre

Out of this came the creation of Canada's national gun registry as a further step to control guns. The parents of the girls, supported by police across Canada achieved this.

I hope some good can come out of another such heart sickening crime, in the United States.

I am glad I am back here on your blog after such a long break but the sadness of the day makes it ever so hard. I just wanted to add my Remberance to your post Peggy.

It is such a sad day to think it happened with the ease it did.

My prayers are for all.
