Ms. Fran

I visited Fran Saturday and we had a nice visit. Her speech has improved so much. I got there in time to help a little with her lunch. They are giving her puree foods so I handed her a bowl of applesauce and a spoon and she fed herself and ate every bite. I held her plate and she ate some mashed potatoes, green peas, and pork chop. All of it looked like baby food but she said it was good. After lunch she and I talked about the goats. She misses sitting on her porch and watching them. Talked about finding her a good looking doctor to bring home. She says there aren't any good looking ones there. Talked about her family, my family, weather, Thanksgiving which we think she will be home in time to celebrate. Then she got tired. I helped her get comfortable and right when she started to doze off she opened her eyes and told me she didn't want to die. I looked in her beautiful eyes and told her she wasn't dying. That she could go to sleep and would wake up. She slept like a baby. My heart breaks for her as her mind starts running in different directions and she gets scared or confused. As long as someone is there to talk to her she calms down and her mind clears. I wish I could spend more time with her but being a hour from here by the time I feed and milk and visit her for a while its time to come home and feed and milk again. When she gets home I have promised her I will spend lots of time with her. She is still getting cards and said to make sure I tell everyone thank you for her. She says you all are very sweet and write such very sweet things to her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is one special lady.

Peggy - Fran is so very lucky to have you in her life! I am hoping with all my heart that she will be back on her front porch soon watching your goats and waiting for her mail. This all tugs at my heart strings so much as I lost my Mother about four years ago, we never do get over that, do we? My daughters (I have 3) think that she look a lot like their Gram too! We are all thinking of her, and hope that she will be home soon. I will keep sending cards too!

I hope it is reasonable to have your friend Fran home for Thanksgiving. For some people hospitals are scary places. I and so sorry Fran is afraid.

Peggy...that was the sweetest posts I've read in a very long while...Ms. Fran is very fortunate to have you in her life and I know you feel the same about her. It broke my heart to read about her fear of dying and falling asleep probably only captilized on that fear. You said EXACTLY the perfect thing for her to hear...and she was able to sleep peacefully. I pray she continues to recover and that she will be able to be back on her front porch watching life very quickly. Tell her we are praying for her, here in ole Tejas...and we are wishing her a blessed Thanksgiving...and also...If I see any good-looking doctors here...I'll send em' her way!

Blessings to you...you are such a dear lady...Ms. Fran most assuredly would agree.

God Bless
Teresa

P.S.
I suppose I missed a blog somewhere along the line about sending her cards...could you email me or let me know how I could send cards to her...I would love to do that...Thanks!

What a God send you are to Fran. I remember when my aunt had her stroke and was in the hospital; she wanted someone to stay with her all the time. How upsetting it is to see a loved one scared and confused. I will definately continue to say prayers for Ms. Fran, o course. You are just an angel on this earth. Another jewel has been added to your crown waiting up above.
