I just thought canning and freezing was done. My wonderful friend sent William home with 9 boxes of produce from the produce stand. I have been cutting corn off the cob for cream corn (12 quarts). Canning tomatoes (6 quarts). Mashing grapes for jelly (6 pints) Cutting and dipping squash to make fried squash to freeze (3 quarts). Stringing and breaking beans (5 quarts). I still have cucumbers to make into pickles, bananas into bread, bell peppers to roast and freeze, and several cantaloupes to cut up to munch on. I never know what she is going to give us so its always fun when the boxes arrive. Don't mind the work now that the weather is cooler and its just that much more to enjoy this winter and to share with the family. The animals are loving the tomato peelings, corn husks and cobs, mashed grapes, and other peelings and scrapes. They think its Christmas. She also sent a box of lettuce leaves for the rabbits. A wonderful blessing and friend.
Still trying to get things cleaned up from pigs getting out. Also getting things together for another yardsale before cold weather. Looking forward to getting rid of more clutter.Melody and family are coming to visit for a 3 day weekend after Thanksgiving. I am getting lots of things together for her to take home. Love seeing things I enjoyed for so long being passed on to the next generation.
JoyceAnn, the baby bunnies are so fat! Smokey only had two and they are so adorable. The one I think you would like is spotted. It likes to cuddle while the other one likes to wiggle around.
Excuse William's greasy hands. He was working on his truck when I ask him to hold the bunnies for me. They are 10 days old today.
Well, I am off to bed so I can make pickles in the morning before feeding the animals. Hope each of you have a blessed night!

Hi Peggy, WOW--you are one busy lady.... Glad to hear that Melody and family are coming for a visit after Thanksgiving.
That is neat that the Produce Market gives you some of the left-over produce...
Those bunnies are just adorable.... SO tiny!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
I can just see your animals loving the tomato peelings, husks, etc! They think its Christmas! Oh...their little eyes must be rolling in joy! The bunnies are just adorable...so big for only 10 days old!
Have a really nice weekend and enjoy the cool weather!

There aren't enough words to describe the cuteness of those bunnies. I can feel their softness from here!
With the cooler temps, I know it is much easier to work on the produce. It all sounds delicious to me. What a treat this Winter to have these veggies ready to eat! Those are the cutest bunnies. Hope you have a great weekend.
Those are the most adorable little bunnies but you, on the other hand are one busy lady!! Again. Don't you ever stop? You really need some 'you' time but I have no idea how when you have all this work to do and the animals to take care of and produce to clean...
Makes me want to go back to bed just thinking about it!!
What a great friend to share the leftover produce. I'm sure she knows that you will make good use of every bit of it. Those bunnies are so cute. I'd have a hard time choosing between the two.
Have you ever made corn cob jelly? My mom used to make it after she cut the corn off the cob and I remember it as being good. Of course she didn't have all the furkids to share the corn cobs with like you do.
Glad you're enjoying the cooler weather.
Hi Peggy,
It is wonderful you have produce to put up and wonderful to have such a nice friend to send it to you!
I love when it is cold and windy out in the winter time to have some summer fresh produce to get out of the freezer or the canning jars for supper.
The bunnies are cute as bug's ears!
Have a great weekend.
Pam
Awww.. the baby bunnies are so cute! Sure sounds like you have been busy canning, all that stuff sure will be good this winter.
You have to be one of the busiest ladies I've ever heard of!
Do you have a compost pile to throw fruit and veggie remains in? I love adding to my compost pile. Great job on the produce-stand stuff.
Awww ~ The bunnies are cute , love the multi-color one. Just let me know when they're weaned and ready.
Sounds like you've been very busy , all that extra food will be nice to have this winter. I'm still dealing with potatoes , will be canning some of those next week.
~ Be Blessed ~
How wonderfully blessed you are! Very nice to have a connection such as that. I can't look at those cute bunnies. I will be having my first litter around the first of November. They are toooo cute!
Cute bunnies!
