Updates

Megan is home from the hospital! She is feeling better and sure sounds like the old Megan. She is going to rest and take it easy before going back to work Monday. She says thank you from the bottom of her heart for all your prayers.
I copied and pasted Sheri's news today. Your prayers have been at work there too! Here is what she had to say:

Hey- guess who I saw today?
Ward. Ward Dixon.
ya'll might remember him...
I walked into his room and there he was- no breathing tube, eye open, happy to see me.

now, a quick assessment still shows stitches on his head, neck and leg, the 'detour' tube up one nostril and a feeding tube up the other, a pik line into an artery on his right arm for ease of blood draws for labs and 3 (I think) IV's in his left arm, EKG heart monitor stickers all over, a drain tube in his leg for that graft donor area, pressure socks/shoelets on his feet and a ... 'personal territory' catheter.

BUT
under all that is Ward.

his fever's down and he knows who I am and is able to answer questions readily, but not easily since his throat still hurts alot and he's really really dry.

he said "OK- let's go". I said "What do you mean, dear?" He said "Help me get up and let's go".

I tried telling him how long he'd been 'down' and the nurse verified that. he said "Shhh", and tried to get up. *~*
I said "You're too weak, dear- you have to be awake awhile before they let you get up and he said "Shhh" and tried to get up. *~*

10 days I wait for him to talk to me and in five minutes he dismissed me twice. *~*
so the nurse rearranged him on the bed and sat him up some and I asked him
-did he remember going in for the first surgery? "Yes".
-did he remember the little medication problems? "They poisoned me". I told him yes, yes they did, twice, but they won't do that again.
-did he remember I'd been sick? "Yes".
-did he remember going in for the second surgery? "Yes".
-did he know I'd been there all afternoon every afternoon? "Yes".-did he remember me reading to him? "Yes".
-did he enjoy the book? "Yes".
-did he want me to read to him today? "No."

he wanted conversation today, even if it was interspersed with pleas to help him up and out of there that were summarily denied.

at 6pm I said I needed to leave- visiting hours were over and I had to get back to the hotel to Alec and he said "Yes- I know that".

I got a kiss and an "I love you" and I left him listening to Animal Planet on the TV.

Alec and I grilled little skillet steaks on the hotel grill, I nuke-baked some potatoes and steamed some brocolli and Alec proclaimed it AWESOME (of course, I let him be the Grillmaster).

An early evening here tonight.

If I show up tomorrow and they've made him worse (again) I'll really have to hurt someone.
Thank you guys for all your prayers for Sheri and family.

And just incase you wondered where Easter eggs came from look real close in our chickens laying boxes for your answer. You can click on picture to enlarge.

Wonderful Wednesday

While checking out tomato plants guess what I found?
Little tomatoes! It won't be long till they are big,red and ready to eat. I can't wait as I love fresh tomatoes. When I went to bring Sweet Pea inside I found Diva and her kids settled down for the night or at least all but one was settled down.

One of the rabbits was enjoying the last little bit of sunlight.

I made a hay rack out of a old metal crib frame yesterday. The dwarfs decided it was more fun to climb in it.

I pressure washed the back porch today and moved Bud out there. He is so happy to be outside even if its only on the porch.

Even though Sweet Pea was standing with her mommy she was ready for me to bring her inside and give her a nice warm bottle. Sammi does not let her nurse at all.

You can see how much bigger her brothers are than she is. Hopefully she will catch up soon.I have had several ask how I keep Sweet Pea from leaving pee and poo all over the house. Well now you know her little secret. But don't tell anyone as she is embarrassed.

Carmen got my name in Pea's Halloween swap. I received my package today. Thanks Carmen!

I will probably be a witch for a while. We have started the kitchen redo today. I am staying right with the handyman every step of the way so he will get this done. No dragging around on this and it will get done fast! Yeah, I know after reading Rosa's posts on her kitchen redo I am entering a nightmare.

Frosty Dan and Brown Robyn are growing up. They are no longer little boys. Dan is starting to get dark on his chest and looking more and more like his daddy, Nitro.
Brown Robyn's spots are coming out more and more. He is looking alot like his mommy, Diva.

I have talked William into letting me keep Brown Robyn but will be listing Frosty Dan for sale. We just can't keep 3 bucks and we really want to keep Nitro for Diva and Brown Robyn for Sammi.

Flower had 6 baby bunnies. They are all solid black or solid gray. Dotty had 4 babies and they are all spotted like her. One day I hope to have one that looks like the daddy, Thumper.

Time to build a fire and settle in for the evening. Hope you had a blessed day!

Hole? What hole?? We didn't dig any hole!

You want to walk away in one piece stay away from my babies!

You are not going to touch my babies either!

Don't you ever get tired of looking under me ?

You just think Killer is mean. Put your hand near my eggs and you won't have any fingers left! And yes, I know I am sitting on duck eggs! Some photos of the RV. Am slowly getting it cleaned and stocked up.

Besides the twin beds there is a sleeper sofa and the kitchen table makes a bed. Doesn't have a tub but does have a nice size shower and lots of closet space behind the toilet and beside the sink. Bedroom has lots of cabinets. Kitchen has big pantry, lots of cabinets and drawers. A nice size fridge and freezer. There is a icemaker next to the entry door, a built in blender on the counter. The sofa is new as well as nice new firm mattresses. Still got things to do but am waiting on cool weather. It has air condition but I just have a couple of fans on in there to keep our electric bill down.

Dotty is a first time mom. She had 2 babies and is taking excellent care of them.

There is a white one with black spots and a solid black one. The white one has a home as soon as its old enough.
Here is Flower with 2 of her babies. They have their eyes open and are running around everywhere.
Here is two of the teen bunnies. They will be going home with grandkids later this summer.

And this is Thumper. The daddy rabbit. He is wanting me to put the camera down and scratch his back. At feeding time he likes me to scratch his back while he licks my arm.

William is home for a few days and we have one grandson here with 5 more grandkids coming Sunday. I think I will have lots to blog about with all of them running around! Have a great weekend!
