Thank You Sis

Sweet Pea my adopted sis (We adopted each other several years ago) sent me a beautiful birthday gift! Last year she gave me the Willow Tree sisters. This year she gave me the beautiful Willow Tree Angel of Hope. She is adorable holding her lantern. I love her Sis and love you too! No camera yet to take pictures but I promise a bunch of photos soon.

No baby piglets yet out of Ms. Scarlett but my money is on today before supper. Rhett is being typical male and frankly doesn't give a da**. Charlotte has learned the sound of my voice. When I call her name she comes running to the gate to get her treat. Whenever someone else calls her name she will look up at them but not move. I have spoiled the momma pig by giving her a apple or some lettuce a couple times during the day. Yesterday I heard Momma Hen going crazy and went out on the porch to see what was wrong. At first I thought another hen had gotten out and came down to her pen and they were fighting through the wire fence. When I took a second look it was a hawk! (yeah I know a perfect camera moment lost) The hawk was trying to get one of the baby chicks that had gotten out of the pen. It was hiding between the fence and a rock. I went out and the hawk flew up into a nearby tree until he saw I wasn't leaving then he flew away. I put the chick back with Momma Hen and she moved all her chicks to the other end of the lot that has a small roosting house and is keeping them close to her. This morning we found 2 of her baby chicks dead. I am thinking that maybe the hawk was trying to pull them through the chicken wire and injured them internally as there was no visible injuries on any of them yesterday. The 22 is now loaded and waiting for the next hawk visit. The other Momma Hen is doing well with her chicks. She sees Rusty coming and doesn't hurry to cover her babies. Think she realizes he won't bark if she lets him look.

Out of all the produce Gerda gave me I ended up with 12 quarts of tomatoes, 12 quarts of green beans, 12 pints of apple butter, 3 quart jars of dehydrated onions, 3 gallons of limeade, 2 gallons of orangeade, 2 loaves of strawberry bread, 1 pint of strawberry butter, 3 quarts of frozen strawberries, and still have 2 boxes of apples to make applesauce and apple pies. I also have a few zucchini to make into zucchini bread. We have had lots of fresh salads each day from all the lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, cukes, onions, etc. plus the animals are getting lots of veggies and veggie scraps each day. It sure was a blessing to get so much fruit and veggies the produce stand gave to her to make room for new delivery.

Eggplants, cukes, peppers, broccoli, brussel sprouts, peas, carrots, radishes, lettuce, spinach, and herbs are growing like crazy since the rain we had Monday. Am going to be mulching the garden today so I won't be spending the summer hoeing weeds. Am also going to be pricing boxes of stuff I have stacked in the livingroom for a yardsale. We are going to have one with my friend Gerda. She is trying to declutter her home so we are going to join together and get rid of our junk and hopefully make it someone else treasures. The sun is shining and its suppose to get up in the mid 70's today with Friday being 85! Time to be outdoors getting that to do list marked off.
Have a blessed day!

A Day At The Homestead

Days at Hidden Haven Homestead seem to go by so fast. Waking up to the sound of crowing roosters. Trying to get out of bed without disturbing Rusty or Troubles. Enjoying the sounds of the early morning while getting dressed to go feed the critters. The bunnies greeting me at the doors and even nibbling out of my hand as I fill their food bowls and give them treats. The chickens waiting impatiently till its their turn for breakfast and have them rush at me like vultures. Charlotte and the piglets hear me coming and are eager for their feed and treats. The piglets are already eating food alongside mom! Ms. Scarlett and Rhett Butler wait not so quietly for their breakfast. Checking to see the new baby bunnies, how many chicks Momma Hen hatched overnight. Making sure Momma Goose and Tessa the Turkey are doing okay while sitting on their eggs. Make sure the teen chicks aren't fighting over their breakfast and Fred the Turkey is saving some breakfast for Tessa. Make my way down to Lady and Tramp. They care more about their doggie treats than breakfast. Polly buries her doggie treat for later and eats her breakfast. Kuma enjoys the rubs and conversation over breakfast but gets down to it as I walk on to fill the bird feeders. Then its on to breakfast for Bud the iguana, Troubles, Whiskers and Rusty before I get to have my own. After breakfast its cleaning the cages and pens, raking and dumping the poo in the mulch pile. Work inside on downsizing for a little while before heading back out for yardwork, gardening, and decluttering buildings and things outside. The sounds of the animals talking to each other in the background is so calming. Watching the birds at the feeders and birdbaths is so relaxing. And then its time for evening feeding. The days are busy and go by so fast but I am enjoying every minute. I am so blessed. I hope each of you have a very blessed weekend.

Here a Chick There a Chick

I am starting to feel like Old McDonald. The hens are starting to come off their nests so we are catching baby chicks while trying to avoid the very mad momma hen. Have one more hen that should hatch her little ones the 25th while the goose and turkey will be hatching the 7th and 9th of April. Still selling chickens almost everyday. All but 2 black bunnies have been sold from the 9 week old litter. We still have older ones and ones that will be ready a few days after Easter and the week after Easter. Spring is really here at the homestead with all the babies being born. Charlotte is doing great with her piggies. Piglet, Binky and Wilbur are getting fat and sassy. Haven't named the rest of them yet. Just waiting on a name that will fit them. We set out some leeks here and at my dear friend Gerda's. I have so enjoyed being back around her. She is a very busy, smart, wonderful cook, 76 year old German lady that is my best friend. We both think we should be related somehow as we can finish each others sentences, do things the same way, and think so much alike. She made the best German potato salad last night for dinner and sent the rest home with me. She told me to put a small spoonful in a pan this morning and let it warm and cook a over easy egg to put on top for breakfast. We did that and it was so good! Thank you Gerda!
I have so many boxes of items to put on Craigslist and ebay and still haven't made a dent in the stuff we have accumulated over the years. Have tons of stuff for yardsales that we hope to get started on this weekend. Melody is mailing my camera to me so I can take pictures of items for sale, that means I can take pictures of the piglets, baby bunnies, and baby chicks to share with you. Troubles is having a ball here at the homestead. He has so much more room to explore here and gets along great with Whiskers. Rusty is wherever I am. If I am feeding the chickens he is walking quietly beside me. The chickens don't pay him any attention. If I am working outside he is laying near me watching. If I am sorting stuff he is sleeping right at my feet and of course he and Troubles are right in bed with me each night. I am lucky here though because its a king size and they can't push me to the edge. Well my lunchbreak is over and I need to get back to my to do list. Hope each of you are enjoying your spring and having a blessed day!

Snakes, Squirrels and Pies... Oh My

We have some baby chicks in a cage in the house until the hen has finished hatching her other eggs. Was afraid if we left them she would come off the nest to feed the chicks. Couple of days ago William was moving the towel we had over one end of the cage to check on them. As he moved the towel a snake dropped on the floor. I scream snake and William being barefooted and startled from my scream started screaming like a girl and dancing all over the floor. I had retreated to the sofa with my feet nicely secured under me. I was laughing so hard at William dancing and screaming I almost fell off the sofa. The snake darted off behind the file cabinet and William darted off to put on his heavy winter muck boots and grab a couple pair of kitchen tongs. Armed he went after the 2 foot snake. I would have taken pictures of this oh so funny adventure but the camera was on the diningroom table and I of course was still safely planted on the sofa. I was cheering William on inbetween laughter. After about 5 minutes of chasing and trying to catch the snake William finally got it out the door where it slithered off the porch and hurriedly made its escape. Turns out Whiskers had brought us a water snake as a gift for feeding him. The next day I am rushing around the kitchen trying to get things done for a upcoming craftfair when I step on something soft and furry. I scream like a girl and look to see Whiskers sitting beside a live squirrel! I pick the squirrel up and set it on the porch railing hoping it will get over its fright and make a break for it. But seems Whiskers must have injured it internally when he caught it as it died a little later. Whiskers is a big fat spoiled cat. He comes crying and whining to you every couple hours for something to eat. He gets a tablespoon of canned food when he cries and has dry food out all the time plus he gets extra for breakfast and supper. He is so fat I don't know how he can catch snakes, squirrels and field mice but he does and he always wants to bring them as gifts. Last year he was carrying a huge black snake to me while it was biting him on the face. He just kept walking with it right to me. I took a hoe and picked it up and let it go over the fence. We are working on breaking him from these gifts but so far the gifts keep coming... ALIVE!

When I was a kid (way back when) I loved going to my Aunt Lola's. She was the best cook! She made melt in your mouth biscuits and pound cakes but the absolutely best thing ever was her pineapple icebox pie. I emailed her daughter (my cousin Jan) to ask if she knew the recipe. My aunt is now in a nursing home in frail health. Jan was hoping her mom would remember the recipe but she didn't and Jan didn't know it either. Aunt Lola had given it to me when I was a young newlywed but I had misplaced it. Well cleaning the kitchen and going through cookbooks I found the recipe written on a envelope inside one of my mothers cookbooks. I am so excited and look forward to making these pies today. They are soooooooo good so I am sharing the recipe with you. I bet you will be addicted to them too!

Aunt Lola's Icebox Pie
20 oz pineapple juice
2 eggs
1 c sugar
1 box cherry gelatin
1 large can of evaporated milk, chilled
vanilla wafers

Heat pineapple juice, sugar, and eggs to boiling; remove from heat and add gelatin. Cool. Whip milk; fold into mixture. Line bottom and sides of pie or cake pans with vanilla wafers and pour mixture over them. refrigerate until congealed. makes 18 servings.

My mouth is watering now so I am off to make pies and enjoy the memories that will come flooding back. Have a blessed weekend.

Cabbage Pinata

I was asked how we make our cabbage pinata for the chickens. Here is the very simple way to give your chickens a little fun and food.

Killer

As I posted last week Killer hatched out 6 chicks. One died but the others are happy and healthy. Killer makes sure they are well taken care of. We were given 23 baby chicks and weren't sure where we were going to keep them. We decided to see what Killer would do if we put them in with her. Killer did us proud. She took those chicks in like they were her very own. William put plastic over the roosting house and hung a heat light. I went in the pen to shoo the chicks inside under the light and Killer came after me! She let me know those were her chicks and she would take care of them. She taught them how to scratch for food and kept going from one side to the other making sure all the chicks were eating and scratching. When the wind picked up she started clucking and rounding them up to go inside. Counting the 5 she already had Killer is now the proud mom of 28 chicks and what a wonderful mom she is! The photos only show part of the chicks as they were all over the pen.

Saturday Visitors

Saturday my stepson Ray, his wife Sharon, their sons Josh and Wayne came for a visit. Actually they purchased our camper and came to pick it up. Sharon and I hit some thriftstores and flea market while Ray and the boys put good tires on the camper to move it. They hadn't been down in months so of course they had to do the tour and see all the new animals. Here is Sharon's day with the camera.Such a big size difference in CC and Tina!
Of they all fell in love with Tiny Tina. It was a nice visit and hopefully they won't wait so long to come back. On Sunday I had a blogger visit with her family. Will post that later

We Are Still Here

Sorry I haven't been posting. William has been home since Friday and we have been catching up on chores. We also did the thing we hate doing... disbudding the baby goats. Thank goodness that terrible chore is over and they all are doing fine. William came home with a virus and of course gave it to me so we both have been trying to get things done with no energy. I have been in bed before 9pm each night. Just didn't have the energy to stay up plus I could never get warm. We seem to be getting over it somewhat. William has to pick up a load tomorrow morning and then heading to PA. I will be back to doing chores by myself after enjoying having someone help with the feeding and milking. All the critters on the homestead are doing great. You can tell they are getting itchy for spring. The ducks and geese have their nests built and are laying eggs. Won't be very long till they will be sitting to hatch out their babies. The baby goats are growing by leaps and bounds and are so much fun to watch. Kuma took some of the money her mom sent and treated herself and the other dogs to rawhide bones. She treated the chickens to cabbage which we tied on a string so they could peck at it. The geese and ducks got mustard greens which they inhaled quickly. The goats got cookies and the rabbits got lettuce. Everyone sends a big thank you to Kuma's mom Debbi in Germany!!

Just A Lazy Sunday

The goats are recovering from their party so are being very quiet. Was no pushing and shoving during feeding time so wondering if they have hangovers this morning. No baby goats yet though none are really due till the 6th of July. ViVi had hers early so I was thinking maybe with the heat BossyToes or Blinkin might want to surprise me. I keep going out several times during the night even though I have the baby monitor on. These Tennessee mountain goats aren't like my sissy city goats. They just stop eating for a minute. Pop that baby out and go back to eating. Diva and Sammi have to have bedrest and be catered to for a week before they go into a crying, moaning labor. Going to have to have a talk with those girls! Willow is growing and so cute. He is trying to run and jump but hasn't gotten it down pat yet. When he stands on 3 legs so he can scratch his head with the other one he falls over. He is adorable. Killer and Sister Sister are doing wonderful with their chicks. I have to endure Killers bites when I feed and water. She is just so sure I am going to take her babies. The 4 eggs that Sister Sister had left in her nest when she came off with her babies have hatched. Well all but one. We put the eggs under Dorthy who is sitting on duck eggs and a couple of chicken eggs. When the chicks hatched I moved them over to Sister Sister. One of the chicks has a bad leg so I moved her back with Dorthy for now. Not sure where I will end up putting it. Picked tomatoes and cukes this morning. Its suppose to storm all afternoon so I am going to do a few things outside then spend some time cleaning, dusting, folding clothes, etc. The house needs a good cleaning and I really really need to get back on the paperwork. Hope you are having a nice relaxing Sunday. Count those blessings!

Not Much about Nothing

The past week we have enjoyed temps in the 80's. I set out tomato plants. Planted squash and peppers. Picked lettuce and onions for a nice salad every day. Worked outside as much as possible and enjoyed the sun warming my bones. This morning I go out to feed and milk in jeans, a turtleneck and a sweatshirt! Its. 39 degrees and suppose to be colder tonight. Our highs this week will be in the low 50's. I think if its cold enough to build a fire in the stove then we should at least get snow. But that's spring around this area. Hot, cold, warm and chilly. If you don't like the weather wait a few minutes and it will change except in the summer. Then its hot and humid all the time. Wonder if I could talk William and the goats into moving to a snowy climate? LOL

Have a fire going so will do some housework, laundry and work on dreaded paperwork. The goats have fresh straw in their stalls to snuggle down in. The rabbits have fresh shredded paper to hide in, and the chickens have fresh straw in their nesting boxes. After the nice warm weather this cool air is kinda a shock to them. They just want to snuggle together and sleep. I have been milking Sonya and DiDi twice a day but only been milking Diva and Sammi just a little each day. I started yesterday milking them twice a day. I lock them in the stall while milking but I have these little heads reaching through the slates trying to nurse. They actually try to butt my hands out of the way so they can suck! Between Diva, Sammi and myself we are slowly weaning the kids. They are eating grain and hay really well and only nurse in evening and morning. I am going to have to get busy making cheese since I am getting so much milk. But that's a good thing.

We are getting around 20 eggs a day which we have regular customers for most. That's another good thing. Still waiting on Bonnie to come off her nest so I can see the goslings. Went to gather eggs yesterday and found a nice big black snake curled up in the nest where Sister Sister was sitting. The eggs were gone but I could see where he had swallowed them. I took a hoe and put him in a live trap, carried him down the road to some ponds and set him free. Had to clean the nesting box, put fresh straw and give Sister Sister more eggs to sit on. She is not happy if she isn't hatching eggs. Just another day at Hidden Haven. Hope yours is fantastic!

John Henry Jr.

Howdy, My name is John Henry Jr. but my human mom calls me pretty boy. I am sure you can see why. I am a handsome feller if I do say so myself. I am one of the lucky few feathered critters that was born and raised right here on the homestead.

My dad John Henry(he is the red rooster in the second photo) and my real mom Caroline (yes that is a picture of me sleeping next to my mom. I am only a teenager and am afraid of the dark) came here from a chick hatchery in February 2005. My human mom raised them from chicks but they weren't born here like me. I am also one of the few feathered critters around here that has several moms. My real mom had the egg, my birth mom (Killer) hatched and raised me and my human mom feeds me and makes me behave. My human mom laughs at me and tells everyone what I do to get chicks. Its not funny to me! My dad and Uncle Elvis don't like it if I try to hit on any of their ladies. They chase me and try to bite me. I really wanted to be with the ladies of the coop so had to think of a way. After watching them for a few days I decided to sit in the laying box and when a hen tried to get in to lay a egg I would jump out and get her! Then while she went on in to lay her egg I would hide behind the laying box so I could go back in a wait on the next lady of the coop. My human mom was going to get pictures of me doing this but it started raining this afternoon. She says she will catch me on camera tomorrow but I won't make it easy for her! She was surprised to see I grew up to be a rooster. She had given away all my rooster brothers when they young and kept me and my sisters thinking I was a girl. I think she needs to take those glasses off the top of her head and put them over her eyes!

My daughter Melody has started blogging again! With 5 kids, husband and work she always has something to write about. Stop by for a visit and I promise you will leave with a smile on your face or wet pants from laughing. Time for me to get back to my washtubs and finish laundry. Will be back later with some tidbits and photos. Have a blessed one!

Isn't it beautiful! I am talking about the raindrops. LOL We had a wonderful thunder shower this afternoon and the geese, ducks and myself enjoyed every drop. Priscilla has bumble foot and I have been doctoring it and its getting better but I still bandage it after cleansing and putting on the antibiotics. She doesn't bother the bandage but walking feels funny to her. She takes a step and then looks at her foot to see whats different. Momma Kitty and Baby Kitty enjoyed having a hen on the porch with them for a little while.

Priscilla is safely back in her private hospital pen. She enjoys the attention and just sits still while I take care of her foot. Bud is doing great. He doesn't even try to get out of his pen when you open the door. Think his traveling fever broke!

Another 105 day. At least I know one good thing the heat does. It raises the temps on my hens to where they are giving me lots of eggs. Today I collected 31 eggs! Can you see egg salad, deviled eggs and lots of baking in my future?

I have been letting the ducks, chickens and geese out during the day since the drought has dried up my gardens. I noticed they were getting into the cats feeder so I sat it up on the patio table. Well now the chickens think I have sat the table for them and they are feasting on cat food! Before I got the camera the chairs around the table had chickens waiting their turn at the feeder. When I went to get the camera most of the chickens thought I was going to the chicken pen to feed them and started running that way. Doesn't matter how much you feed the little buggers they never get full! The cats are mad at me. They can't lay around their feeder waiting till they are hungry to get up and eat because the chickens are cleaning it out. Will have to figure something out before letting the chickens out in the morning or the cats may attack me! Wonder if the chickens will meow instead of cluck or crow now? :)

Don't forget to leave a comment on the post below for my give away. Today William and I have been married a great big 6 years! In some ways it seems like less and other ways it seems like we have been married forever. He will be home tonight so we are grilling steaks and I am hoping we will be able to listen to the rain on the tin roof of the porch if the thunder I hear is a indication. To celebrate our anniversary and his birthday (the 30th)William bought a motorcycle. He isn't home very much now so imagine his bike won't get many miles on it. He is giving me money to go shopping but I am going to enjoy having all day tomorrow by myself. He and the couple who help us are going to pick up the bike and I will be all alone here to just relax and enjoy the day. That will be the best present! I went to my favorite thriftstore today and had my buggy loaded with items (will take pictures later and add). I had several vintage children books from 1940. Fairy Tales, Bedtime Stories, and even some Trixie Belden. Had several mystery books for me, some vintage glass hens on a nest that I collect. Some pots and bowls for my soap shop, some breakfast bowls, couple of serving spoons, a wreath and a picnic basket. When I got up to pay, Donna the manager told me Happy Anniversary and wouldn't let me pay for anything! So with the money I saved I just had to stop by TJ Max and pick up a few things.

I have let the chickens, ducks and guineas out to roam around the yard. The geese refuse to come out. When I went in the pen and herded them out they made such a racket and turned right around and went back in the pen. Guess they don't like freedom. Fred, the turkey is now in the peacock pen. I have a young mate for him and didn't want the chickens and roosters scaring her. She is still too young but Fred is spreading his feathers and strutting his stuff. Since his last mate was Ginger I am going to name this one Ethel. They seem to like being in the pen with the peacock and my polish topper hens.

I really must do something with Dan and Robyn. They are getting all of Diva and Sammi's milk and not leaving me any! I was trying to milk Diva and Dan was reaching through trying to nurse her. They are so tall now that they have to lay on their tummies to nurse. They are as tall as Sammi ! I am going to start locking them in their stall at night so they can't get to the girls and then let them have the milk all day after I get the morning milking.

Hope each of you have a blessed weekend!

Thank goodness this weekend is over! It has been a very stressful one. William arrived home Friday morning about 6:30am after driving all night so he was very very tired. He had brought a lady with him after talking with me over the phone. Her car broke down and is taking a week to fix the engine so she was at a truckstop just sitting in the tv room because her money was low. She is staying here with me till her car is ready. William and I both let our tempers flare a few times. The heat and humidity was terrible. We grilled out as Williams daughter and her husband were coming down to borrow our pickup. We ate inside because of the heat.
Mrs. Mighty Chicken died. She was the one I had doctored back after Mr. Mighty Chicken cut deep gashes in both her sides. I had let her back in the chicken lot but John Henry and Elvis started doing the same thing when they mated with her. I took her back out but with the heat and her wounds she didn't make it this time. Went out to feed this morning and found Donna (one of the white ducks) dead. We think it was a combo of the heat and Donald and Daffy chasing and mounting her all day the day before. Daisy will bite them and not run when they go after her.
Williams daughter and family brought the truck back this morning in time for breakfast. She had requested blueberry pancakes. Her husband wanted sausage and William wanted eggs and gravy so I got busy in the kitchen. After breakfast it was the most terrible part of the weekend. Time to disbud the boys. Ken (Williams son in law) said he would help but I still had to help too. I held the kid and Ken held the head and William burnt their nubs (what would have been horns). We had read and read how to do this and looked at the step by step photos but still were stressed to have to do it. I gave them owie ease, a herbal pain relief. Whoever says disbudding doesn't hurt is CRAZY! We did Brown Robyn first and he cried and cried and cried! William did two rounds on each nub but it wasn't enough. I couldn't stand it anymore and we let him go back with his mom for a rest and we heated the disbudder up for Frosty Dan. He cried a little but did fairly well. He got 2 rounds but wasn't enough either. We let them rest and nurse Diva. Diva and Sammi were determined I wasn't getting near the boys again. I kept trying to get one and they would corral them. Since Frosty Dan did so well the first time he went first the second time. This time he screamed and cried. Diva was crying, Sammi was crying, the chickens, geese and turkey were screaming and I was freaking out. Got Dan done and I had to go get Brown Robyn. I really really didn't want him to go through it again as he had such a hard time the first round. He had a even harder time the second time. He cried so loud and all the animals were crying just as loud. I finally said enough. If they aren't burnt enough too bad! We have the copper looking rings around the nubs and they already knocked the caps of the nubs off which we read would happen. I think its good enough. They get their ear tattoos next but that won't be bad. I have went out and checked on them alot and they slept for a while then was running around eating and are now fast asleep next to mom, dad and Auntie Sammi. None of the grown goats trust us so they are all sleeping in the same stall surrounding the boys to protect them. I never want to do this again but know I will have to. At least I could close my eyes while holding them and not have to watch. The good thing is the boys seem to have forgiven me. Brown Robyn loves for me to scratch his head and will almost fall asleep while I do this. He let me scratch his head tonight when I went out to check on them. Frosty Dan came to me but wouldn't let me rub him yet. I don't blame them. Tomorrow I have salve to put on their heads and pain relief if needed. Tomorrow starts a new week. I sure hope it brings lots of good things with it. We sure could use good happy things around here! I am still going to count my blessing tonight. One big blessing is the boys made it through the disbudding and so did I! I will post photos tomorrow.

Every morning and evening I know its feeding time because I see this waiting by the chicken pen door..

I have to be careful when I go in to feed not to step on anyone as they follow every step I make till I fill the feeders. When they see the feed I am not important anymore and can walk around the pen feeding the rabbits, geese and refilling the water buckets. At least they make me feel important for a few minutes.

William will be home late tonight or early in the morning. We are going to disbud the boys. For those that don't know its using a very very hot tool that burns the little nubs that would be horns if left alone. I don't want to do it but to be registered and to be able to be a show goat they need to be disbudded. I have pain medicine to give them though everyone tells me it doesn't hurt the kid and they will be running around playing in a few minutes. I just want to know who has the talking goat that told them it didn't hurt! William's daughter and her husband are coming tomorrow night to borrow our pickup to move some items. We also have Donna coming to visit for a few days. She is a sweet lady William met. Her car engine messed up and its taking a week to fix it and she was stranded in a area where she knew no one nor had anywhere to stay. I am looking forward to having her visit so I will have someone to talk to that can talk human instead of animal. :) Some of the grandchildren are coming down next week. Some will stay a week and some will stay a month. That will give me lots of blogging material! I will take a picture of the 2 new bunnies tomorrow. Dotty has them all buried in her nest so I have left them alone. Someone ask what I did with the bunnies. Some went to or are going to grandchildren and others are sold. I only keep Thumper, Flower and Dotty. Am looking for a spotted mate for Dotty though. We are having very hot and humid weather here. The heat index is over 100F and its not even summer yet. I didn't turn the air on last year till the end of July. Today I turned it on. Its bad enough to get hot and sweaty while working outside but to come inside and still be hot and sweaty is worse. I am so a cold snow climate person. Going to find some land where it snows alot and see if I can talk William into moving. Diva has enough sweaters and sweatshirts to share with the others. LOL Everyone have a wonderful weekend and lets count our blessings no matter how small or big.

Its my turn to hatch the eggs! (Henny Penny)
No, I always hatch the eggs around here! (Killer)

I am not giving up my eggs to anyone!( Sister)
And I am letting all 3 of them sit on their eggs. Am too tired to fight for them and I still gathered 23 eggs without theirs!
